Karaoke

Jodi @ BobalouiesPosted by Hello

Went to our favorite Karaoke bar (Bobalouie's) last night with my co-workers. It is an amazingly good time. There is plenty of drinking, singing, cheering, and general rowdiness to satisfy the party animal inside. It's a fun group of people I work with, and it's always good to cultivate those social ties outside the office. Incedently, I sang One Week, Wild, Wild West, Loser, and I'm Too Sexy. Also, Jodi and I sang a duet on Closer to Fine (in the style of Indigo Girls).

When they kicked us out (closing time, not behavior), we went to Perkins for breakfast and a raucus debrief of the evening's activities.

I have a feeling that if we went every week, it would become tiresome, but going once every month or two- the fun hasn't subsided at all!

New 'dos

Jeff's 'hawkPosted by Hello

So we have this wonderful stylist that we love, Marie. We go in and just tell her to do something cool, and she doesn't disappoint. Well, we found out that she's moving to Chicago. Next week.

So we went to her on Thursday, for our last hurrah. I got darkened and cut into the lovely and fashionable faux-hawk, and Jodes got a whole buncha orange in the front, and the parts that were blond got the halloween treatment as well.

Apparently, there is a generation gap when it comes to bright colored hair. Everyone over the age of 30 hates it, but the rest of us think it's awesome.

Regardless, she's beautiful!

Weekend by the grill

MmmmPosted by Hello

It was a great weekend! Jodi came home from Melbourne on Saturday, so we spent most of the day just hanging out at home. Then on Sunday, we went to Border's- I bought a new Christopher Moore book and a CD by a comedian named Stephen Lynch.

Then on Sunday afternoon, I started up the grill! If I'm going to light up the coals, I figure I may as well cook for the week. Pictured above is round one. We had steaks and grilled veggies for dinner.

Really, I just love to sit outside, read a book, drink a beer (or two), and smoke a cigar. And grilling is the perfect excuse to do it!

Renaissance Festival

Mossy, Jodi and Jen @ BARF Posted by Hello

This Sunday, we- and a dozen of our closest friends- went to the Bay Area Renaissance Festival. It was a delightful whirlwind of turkey legs, beer, wenches, hair braiding, entertainment and costumed freaks! At least this time we escaped without spending hundreds of dollars(let me tell you, that's a feat). I suppose one of these years we'll convince some of our friends to dress up, so Jodi and I won't be the freak islands in our sea of normally-dressed friends.

Unfortunately, next week is the last week... until next year! Huzzah!
